What to Expect

Firstly, we’ll have a chat about your hearing. We’d like to know what hearing difficulties you’re experiencing and how they are impacting you, if you’ve had past problems with your ears or hearing, and whether you have other hearing-related or balance symptoms.

Next, an experienced audiologist will conduct an audiology assessment which could include:

  • Visual ear examination (otoscopy)
  • Middle ear function testing (impedance testing)
  • Outer hair cell function testing (otoacoustic emission testing)
  • Pure tone audiometry (air and bone conduction)
  • Speech audiometry (in quiet and in noise)

And lastly, we’ll go through the results with you, discuss how they relate to your concerns, and provide recommendations. We want to be sure you feel informed, guided, and confident to take the next steps.
