We have experienced audiologists across Adelaide who will guide you through a wide selection of hearing aid styles, technologies and fits to support different listening needs. Together, we’ll focus on finding the best solution to suit your hearing needs, lifestyle and budget.

Hearing aid technology is very clever and our audiologists are experts at matching your hearing needs with the right technology. Whether you need hearing aids that adapt to different environments, reduce background noise, enhance speech or provide connectivity, we’ll get your sorted.

Hearing Aid Range

With something as important as a hearing aid, you want to be sure you have chosen the best product for your hearing needs, lifestyle and budget. While many hearing aid providers can only offer you the brand they manufacture, Can:Do Hearing are an independent provider so you’ll find a comprehensive range of hearing aids from all the leading brands.

Hearing Aid Styles and Types

Together with your audiologist, you’ll find the hearing aid style and type that is both comfortable and effective for you. Our wide range include:

Receiver-in-Canal (RIC)

Discreet, comfortable and suitable for most people. The small casing and fine wire make the RIC hearing aid device almost invisible. RIC hearing aids are suitable for mild to severe hearing loss.

Benefits:

  • Very discreet
  • Can feature Bluetooth streaming
  • Runs on rechargeable batteries

Standard or High Powered Behind-the-Ear (BTE)

Small, comfortable and suitable for most people. The body of the hearing aid sits over the ear. A plastic tube connects to a dome or mould which delivers sound into the ear canal. High powered BTE’s are slightly larger with a thicker tube and custom mould.

Benefits:

  • Suits mild, severe and profound hearing loss
  • A range of sizes available including small discreet models
  • Offer a range of technology levels
  • Easier to manage if you have poor dexterity
  • Battery powered and rechargeable models available

In-the-Ear (ITE)

Custom-made to sit fully or partly inside the ear. Varying sizes, some which fill the entire ear, and some that are almost invisible outside of the ear. Our range includes Invisible-in-the-Canal (IIC) and Completely-in-the-Canal (CIC) hearing aids. In-the-Ear devices have connectivity technology and sophisticated background noise reduction.

Benefits:

  • Suit mild to severe hearing losses
  • Available in a range of sizes including small discreet models
  • Various technology levels and connectivity options
  • Can be easier to handle than BTE devices

Hearing Aid Batteries

You can purchase new hearing aid batteries at each of our clinics. While you’re there, you can safely and responsibly dispose of your used batteries in the recycling bins we’ve provided in partnership with the recycling efforts of Lions Club Australia.

If you wish to upgrade to rechargeable hearing aids, please chat to your audiologist at your next appointment.

Hearing Aid Maintenance

Maintaining your hearing aids is important… and simple.

  1. Clean the outer casing with a soft, dry cloth and use a wax brush to clean the microphone daily.
  2. Leaving the battery compartment open at night will help to prevent moisture build-up.
  3. Store your hearing aids in a dry container away from pets and small children.
  4. Regularly change the wax filters and inspect the rubber ear domes for wear and tear, with replacement recommended every 2-3 months.
  5. Behind-the-Ear (BTE) hearing aids will need the tube detached and a special cleaning wire used to eliminate wax build up.
  6. Do NOT immerse your hearing aids in water.
  7. Remove hearing aids before applying hairspray, perfume, sunscreen, or aftershave.
  8. Keep your hearing aids away from direct sunlight, hair dryers, and extreme heat.
